Literary Adventures in the Luminescent City...

This book is one of the best I've read in a long time. Whether you have ever been, or never ever been, or might be thinking about going, this book is worth reading. I bought it at the airport in Glasgow thinking it would be yet another account of well-known but random factoids. Wrong! Just four stories (there aren't really chapters in this book) in, I'm hooked and can't stop telling people about the tiny details I never knew before (for instance, the real (or is it?) and fascinating story behind The Count of Monte Cristo). Paris has always been special to me. This book simply highlights all of the wonderful (and sometimes strange) things that have happened here from Napoleon to now. If you won't take my word for it, the many glowing reviews certainly provide a less biased, (yet completely infatuated with) view. So have a read, and tell me what you think!
