I've been going a little out of control in the kitchen lately. I read quite a few food blogs (and have become more than a bit obsessed with Epicurious). The result is that I have slowly been changing my food mentality. I try to get my five (+) a day. I try to eat less meat and healthier cuts of it. I've even taken to trying to get the most out of leftovers. It has changed the way I eat, but even more so it has changed the way I cook. Suddenly, I find myself making pizza dough from scratch and cutting up pasta dough to make fresh noodles. Suddenly, I'm making my own chicken stock. Suddenly, making Yorkshire Puddings to go with a roast doesn't seem like too much work...until it does. Cooking is always something that has been enjoyable for me but recently with so much to do in other parts of my life, I've kept cooking at the same level as someone who has loads of time. The result? After much compromising, I've cut back a little and let the boy take over (well, every once in a while). He learns how to cook, I don't overdo dinner. And I'm sure every once in a while I will over do it, but for now, it's nice to get back to half hour dinners. I'll leave you with some pictures...
