Fames est optimus coquus! Or is it? Christmas Day Dinner...

Joyeux Noël à tous!
(Merry Christmas Everyone!)

I've been posting a lot of food pictures lately I realise. Since this is partially a food blog I won't apologise. I will say however, that until the 31st, I will try to abstain from photographing every course! Perhaps by then I will have located a card reader and will be able to stop using my iPhone to capture low-quality pictures that don't quite do my subjects justice. But bear with me, as I give you...

Christmas Day Dinner:

Canapés:
Foie gras on toast (sweet and gingerbread); Caviar with créme fraiche on blinis; Pigs in a blanket; Sweet tomatoes; Parma ham, hard-boiled quail egg and tomato brochettes

Entrée:
Smoked Salmon with créme fraiche (whipped with shrimp and horseradish and topped with salmon eggs)

Plat:
Roasted Goose with pork and vegetable stuffing along with potatoes roasted in goose fat and broccoli

Dessert:
Bûche de Noël glacée with macarons

Mignardises:
Top: Candied oranges dipped in milk chocolate, creamed chesnuts, fruit pastilles; Right: Mendiants; Russian Tea Cakes (both made by me!); Left: Macarons;
